In May 2008 professors and senior lecturers from universities in South Eastern Europe and Germany started a close, trustful and creative cooperation in the scientific fields of entrepreneurship and innovation; they established the “Academic Network Entrepreneurship and Innovation South-Eastern-European Universities”.  

From 2008 to 2016 the network partners from Universities in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia and Germany realized numerous activities and measures that should assure and enhance the quality of education and research, in favor of the universities, the students, the professors and the scientific staff as well as the regions and the regions’ further development.

The network universities pursue the following main goals:

- The improvement of students’ and graduates’ qualification in the fields of entrepreneurship and innovation as well as the enhance­ment of research activities in these fields which have an increasing importance for the economic development of countries and regions in an ever growing way.

- The students should get possibilities to gather practical and concrete experiences of intercultural communication and cooperation.

- The creative cooperation of professors, lecturers and students within the Network should contribute to improve the spirit of innovation and to increase the number of successful innovation within the regions of the network universities.

The main activities and measures of the network universities were

-         24 Summer Schools for Master students (including two workshops “Day and Night od Entrepreneurship”;

-         at present ongoing Joint Research Projects with the topics “ Failure of Small and Medium sized Enterprises” and “Corporate Social Responsibility”;

-         Writing of Case Studies considering the reality of South-Eastern Europe;

-         Round Table Workshops University – Businesses;

-         Annual Meetings “Summer Academy”.

From 2008 to 2016 the network was financially supported by the German Academic Exchange Service DAAD within the program “Academic Reconstruction South Eastern Europe” (“Akademischer Neuaufbau Südosteuropa”). This program, based on a special financing of the German Minister for Foreign Affairs, was finished at the end of 2016.

 All partners of the network decided to continue the cooperation, restructuring the organization, and looking for special financing for different activities. The network partners decided, too, to change the name. In the future the professors and senior lectures of the participating universities will continue the cooperation with the new name “SEE! EIC”.
